May. 24th, 2013 09:14 pmHe waited four days. Which had to have been some sort of record for him. Bones would be proud. Eventually, but right then Jim was lucky just to not have been caught and considering he wasn't exactly going to stay upright much longer, he didnt think pride was going to be the emotional force he'd face once Bones found him.

Date: 2013-05-25 04:08 am (UTC)Spock was once more walking towards the Academy medical center, a much used route over the last week since successfully putting the Enterprise into Spacedock. The Vulcan's eyes were staring straight ahead yet seeing nothing, merely allowing his feet to take him where he wanted to go...
...and that would be to Jim's side.
What was the epiphany? The moment that he watched brilliant blue eyes glaze over into the recesses of death, where his world narrowed down to concentrate on the one person that suddenly meant more to him than anyone else alive.
To know that he would never hear that voice and that he once more witnessed the death of family...because that what Jim had become, family.
However, defying all Universal laws, Jim was alive. And Spock allowed himself to feel; because it would be illogical to deny himself because he was, miraculously, given a second chance to do things right.
T'hy'la...
Spock's chest warmed at the word and the feelings attached to it. However, he couldn't help the small pang of guilt... because after everything else, there was indeed one casualty...his relationship with Nyota Uhura. He couldn't allow their relationship to remain as it was... so he did the only logical thing.
However, to say she was upset would be a considerable understatement.
Ka'adith. What is, is.
Spock's feet echoed along the walls as he neared the medical bay, his gray officer's uniform looking prim, and proper. However, the Vulcan's tracks were halted as he saw his commanding officer, friend, and T'hy'la attempting to sneak out of med bay...]
Jim?

Date: 2013-05-25 04:21 am (UTC)...Shit.
[Jim leans heavily against the wall and grins. Well that was certainly short lived as far as escapes went.
Though he couldn't say he was upset that Spock had come back. He wasn't even close to being upset at seeing his first officer in the hall. It wouldn't be a stretch to even admit he missed him. ]
Hey, Spock.

Date: 2013-05-25 04:04 pm (UTC)I was not aware that you had been given permission to leave... I had requested that Doctor McCoy inform me as soon as you were going to be released...
[Spock was amused, but his statement was covered in accusation... Unless you gave him a pretty darn good excuse, you were going to go back to bed.
Spock would drag you if he had to.]

Date: 2013-05-25 08:39 pm (UTC)Maybe he forgot.

Date: 2013-05-29 08:55 pm (UTC)I find that I highly doubt that sir. As I see it, you have two options...
...You can go back to your bed on your own, or I can carry you there.
[Spock took another threatening step forward.]

Date: 2013-05-30 05:10 pm (UTC)Or you could sneak me out of here and let me live a little. Honestly if I was about to drop dead again, you guys would know by now.

Date: 2013-06-02 01:35 am (UTC)I trust that the good Doctor is keeping you confined to med-bay for logical reasons sir.
Please...
[Spock steps forward, putting an strong, warm arm around his Captain's waist, urging him back in the direction of his bio-bed...]

Date: 2013-06-02 02:05 am (UTC)[You get the biggest, saddest, most hang-dog expression you will probably ever see, but if Jim is leaning against Spock's side a little more than he strictly should be if he was "well" then don't comment on it Spock. Cause that'd just be a blow to Jim's pride.]
Jim, Spock. Come on. Use my name.

Date: 2013-06-02 02:18 am (UTC)[Spock didn't mind that Jim was leaning on him... but he would never say out loud that he liked it.]
I have been given leave today, I was wondering if you would be amenable if I spent it in your presence? Perhaps if we gain Doctor McCoy's permission, I may help you with physio.

Date: 2013-06-02 02:20 am (UTC)Spock, you're my friend right?

Date: 2013-06-02 02:21 am (UTC)Of course Jim.

Date: 2013-06-02 02:24 am (UTC)Then don't play stupid. Come on. You can watch me fall on my face all afternoon if you want. I'm not going to stop you.

Date: 2013-06-02 02:25 am (UTC)I would not let you fall Jim.
no subject
Date: 2013-06-02 02:26 am (UTC)You can't learn how to walk without falling, Spock.
no subject
Date: 2013-06-02 02:33 am (UTC)Ah yes... but you have the distinct advantage of already knowing how to walk...
[You trying to out-logic a Vulcan who is attempting to wax poetic? Bad Jim...]

Date: 2013-06-02 02:37 am (UTC)Yeah? Tell my body that, Spock.
[He tries because it keeps Spock on his toes. And man, does Jim love watching Spock use his brain.]

Date: 2013-06-02 02:40 am (UTC)[Spock helps Jim up onto the bed...]
Jim... would you be willing to converse at this time?

Date: 2013-06-02 02:46 am (UTC)Shoot.

Date: 2013-06-02 02:48 am (UTC)Jim... may I inquire as to what you experienced while dying? If you would rather not talk about it, I will understand.

Date: 2013-06-02 02:55 am (UTC)[He wets his lips and leans back, gaze darting between Spock's face and the wall.]
It was like my bones were on fire. Melting on the inside and I couldn't breathe.

Date: 2013-06-02 02:57 am (UTC)And the moment of passing? What happened?

Date: 2013-06-02 02:59 am (UTC)Calm. It all just stopped.

Date: 2013-06-02 03:04 am (UTC)I see... I am sorry if my questioning made you uncomfortable. I must say that it is not often that one gets the opportunity to talk to someone who had...
....
[Spock couldn't even get the words out.... He hated that Jim had died... ]

Date: 2013-06-02 03:07 am (UTC)I died, Spock. You can say it.
No one else does.
no subject
Date: 2013-06-02 03:14 am (UTC)It would seem that illogically..... I am avoiding it. [Spock looks down.
Spock's mind was in so many places. Illogically, he had hated Jim for dying. He had been deprived of his only friend... denied of a lifetime that had been alluded to him by his older counterpart...]
You have my apologies. Also, I wished to tell you that Lieutenant Uhura and I dissolved our romantic relationship.
